Chilean President Meets Chinese Foreign Minister
Chilean President Ricardo Lagos on Wednesday met Chinese Foreign Minister Tang Jiaxuan who is in Santiago for an East Asia-Latin America forum.
During the meeting, Tang conveyed greetings of Chinese President Jiang Zemin to Lagos and said that the coming visit by Jiang to Chile will push the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries to a new stage.
Lagos said his country is looking forward to Jiang's visit and he is confident that the visit will be successful.
Tang, who arrived here Wednesday morning for the forum scheduled for March 29-30, also held talks respectively with his counterparts of Mexico, Singapore and Ecuador.
