India's Test Launch of New Generation Satellite Launch Vehicle Aborted

India's ambition to join the world's elite club of space industry suffered a setback on Wednesday as the test launch of its new generation of Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle using the cryogenic engine, the GSLV-D1, was forced to be aborted following a failure of liftoff.

The cause of the failure remains unclear for the present.
