Green Belt to Mount Capital Airport Expressway

Beijing Capital Airport Expressway is near completion of renovation, being grown to a new huge green belt, which is set by the end of next month. By then, a green thoroughfare will appear before visitors. The 16.3-km long expressway stretches from Sanyuan Bridge to Tianzu Overpass.

Trees grown on both sides of the airport expressway prior to the renovation had not been well pruned or in a good orderly form and there was no variety to speak of. This time, the renovation will increase the acreage to 100 hectares of 60,000 green trees and evergreen arbor trees taking up one sixth of the trees planted. The new green belt is to be built 100 meters in width, with defoliation arbor trees, evergreen trees, bush and small arbor trees to dominate the expressway.

Visitors on arrival will be first impressed at sight of the green Airport Expressway leading into the city center of Beijing.
