Telecom Enterprises Raise US$20 Billion from Overseas Stock Listings
The Ministry of Information Industry announced recently that China's telecommunications enterprises have so far accumulatively raised a total amount of US$ 20 billion from overseas capital markets, far exceeding the total amount of loans from foreign governments and international financial organizations utilized since China adopted the reform and opening policy (US$ 7 billion by the end of 1998).
The amount of China's telecom enterprises that have raised from overseas stock markets since 1998 accounts for 60 percent of the total achieved by SOEs during the same period.
