Security be Ensured in Excavation of Luozhuang Han Tombs: Zhang WenbinZhang Wenbin, director of the State Bureau of Cultural Relics, made a special trip to Jinan, Shandong Province, inspecting on the fieldwork for the excavation of Luozhuang Han dynasty tombs.After a careful inspection of the main coffin chamber, tomb passages, and excavated subsidiary tombs, Zhang Wenbin highly praised the first phase of excavation work. He also expressed his appreciation for the Han Tombs, saying that it is the second Qin Mausoleum so far as its large scale and the fine unearthed relics are concerned. The Luozhuang Han dynasty tombs, about one-kilometer away from Luozhuang Village of Zhangqiu, Jinan city of East China's Shandong Province, is so far the biggest of prince tombs of the Western Han dynasty. Although the main coffin chamber has not been excavated, the Luozhuang Han tombs have already roused a hubbub throughout the world for the unearthed rare relics of over 3,000 pieces from the excavated affiliated tombs. With a total of 32 affiliated and sacrificial tombs, the Luozhuang Han tombs rank first in numbers among all the excavated Han dynasty tombs in China. In addition, a set of percussion instruments and stringed instruments were unearthed from the attached tombs, including a set of 19-piece chime, which is eulogized in the archaeological circle as the First Chime from the tombs of the Western Han Dynasty.
