China Hails Peaceful Resolution of Border Disputes among Gulf Countries
Chinese Foreign Ministry
spokesman Sun Yuxi extended China's appreciation of and congratulations to the peaceful resolution of border disputes left over by history between countries of the Persian Gulf.
The International Court of Justice
has made a successful arbitration over the border dispute between Qatar and
Bahrain
. And Qatar and
Saudi Arab
ia have also reached a consensus over the map of the final border division.
When asked for comments over the above facts at a regular news briefing held here Tuesday, Sun said that the Chinese government hails the peaceful approach and good-neighborly spirit used in resolving border disputes by the countries involved.
This is not only beneficial to the promotion of relations between countries in the region, but also helpful to the regional peace and stability as a whole, the spokesman said.
