Jilin Decides to Indefinitely Prohibit Hunting in Mt.Changbai

The Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Jilin Province has lately decided to impose an indefinite prohibition on hunting of terrestrial wild animals on Changbai Mountains to repair the damage to natural ecology caused by excessive hunting and killing in past years.

Jilin was the first to impose all-province hunting prohibition when it issued a decision on similar content in January 1996. In the following five years, a herd of endangered animals, such as black bear, lynx, Sika deer, began to appear in Changbai Mountains located in the north temperate zone and number of other animals also increased.
