Kidnapper in Beijing Sentenced to Death

A kidnapper by the name of Huang Wangqiu was sentenced to death by the Beijing No.2 Intermediate People's Court yesterday for kidnapping and killing a four-year-old child.

The court has also deprived Huang of his political rights for life and confiscated all his property.

Huang Wangqiu, 26, was a farmer from central China's Hubei Province. On August 21, 2000, he kidnapped the son of Luo, a resident in Beijing's Fengtai District for exacting money. In the process of kidnapping, the child was stifled to death because his mouth and nose were muffled by Huang.

Seeing that the child had died, Huang ran away from the scene but was arrested by police officers soon.
