Iranian Youth Attacks Iranian Embassy in Ankara

An Iranian youth has poured gasoline at the main entrance gate of the Iranian Embassy in Ankara allegedly to show anger at the Iranian government, Anatolia News Agency reported on Monday.

The 21-year-old attacker, Ali Napayan, was detained by police and no one was injured in the incident, which occurred on Sunday.

The attack only sparked a small fire that was quickly extinguished.

Upon interrogation by Ankara police, Napayan, who came to Turkey from Iran a week ago, confessed that he wanted to protest the regime in Tehran because he could not find a job after graduation from high school.

He declared that he was not a member of any organizations.

An investigation into the incident was under way.
