Qu Xiaofei, director with the city's commission of Science and Technology, said the government will keep on increasing the software sector to achieve even more profit. The total revenue of the industry is expected to hit 1.5 billion yuan (200 million US dollars) including 500 million yuan (60 million US dollars) from exports this year, said Qu. Also, the city has established a non-state-run software institute, the first of its kind in the country, as an attempt to train professional talents for local development. It is scheduled to recruit 3,000 undergraduate students and 220 graduate students this year. China is painstakingly seeking opportunities to expand its high-tech industries including the software industry, micro-electronics industry and network products to meet the needs for building IT infrastructure facilities, upgrading traditional industries and developing e-commerce. |
