3 kg of Heroin Seized at Dhaka Zia Airport
The Customs Surveillance team at Zia International Airport Friday seized three kilograms of heroin from the Biman Cargo Village at the airport and arrested four suspects including a woman.
The surveillance team acting on a tip-off searched the Biman Cargo Village and seized the heroin from three baskets of betel leaf, which were booked for London, airport sources said.
Anwar Hossain, officer-in-charge of the Cantonment police, said the customs authorities caught Harunur Rashid from the Village and handed him over to police.
Police said Rashid, on behalf of Turag Enterprises, booked 46 baskets of betel leaf for London. Police also arrested three other suspects.
All the arrested will be produced in the court Saturday, police sources said.
