Visa-Upon-Arrival Treatment for Foreign Tourists to GuilinForeign tourists to visit Guilin, one of China's most popular tourism destinations, will be given visa-upon-arrival treatment as of April 1.A local official explained that tourist groups or individual travelers from countries that have established diplomatic relations or official business ties with China can take flights to Liangjiang International Airport in Guilin and directly apply for a visa with the public security department at the airport with a valid ordinary passports, or other international travel documents, or letters of invitation from relevant Chinese organizations. Guilin, noted for its natural scenery, clear water and strangely shaped stone formations, hosts some 10 million tourists every year, of which, overseas tourists make up 1 million. Seven overseas air routes are operated from the Guilin airport to Seoul of the Republic of Korea, Fukuoka, Japan; Bangkok, Thailand; Hong Kong and Macao. Previously, visa-upon-arrival treatment was only given to foreign nationals with business passports. |
