Chinese, Thai Foreign Ministers Confer in BeijingChina and Thailand agreed Friday to face up to the challenge brought about by globalization, jointly push forward the process of regional dialogue and cooperation, and further strengthen their coordination and cooperation in regional and international affairs.This consensus was reached by Chinese Foreign Minister Tang Jiaxuan and visiting Thai Foreign Minister Surakiat Sathirathai during their talks Friday. During the talks, Tang said that Sino-Thai relations have witnessed a smooth development and the two countries have benefited from their friendly and fruitful cooperation in various fields. Sino-Thai relations have become a model for good-neighborly mutual trust and friendly cooperation between countries of different social systems, noted Tang. Surakiat said the new Thai government attaches great importance to its relations with neighboring countries, especially China, and hopes that Thailand and China will expand mutually beneficial cooperation in all fields. He also voiced Thailand's support for Beijing's bid to host the 2008 Olympic Games. Surakiat stressed that the Thai government will stick to the " one China" policy and will not allow any activities against China in his country.
