French Nuclear Submarine Prevented from Docking in Australia
Anti-nuclear protesters formed a sea blockade Thursday in a bid to prevent a French nuclear submarine from docking at an

n naval base.
The Australian Associated Press reported that French Navy destroyer FNS Dupleix and attack submarine FNS Perle were due to arrive at the naval base HMAS Stirling, south of Perth, Thursday night for a rest after weeks of exercises in Australian waters.
A flotilla of anti-nuclear vessels reportedly intends to blockade the naval base to prevent the submarine from docking.
"We do not want to be put at risk of nuclear contamination. We don't want to be part of the rehearsals for nuclear war. What we want is for our land and sea to be nuclear free," a spokesman for the protesters was quoted as saying.
