North China Province Expedites Foreign Trade

North China's Hebei Province is set to achieve more foreign trade with a total value of US$4 billion this year by means of new management and the readjust of the business structure.

An important measure is to reinforce direct links with enterprises and agencies in Asia and help exporters in the province get close to international consumers, according to officials with the province.

The province has already established relationships with agents and dealers in the United States, European countries and Japan, which helped Hebei's products enter large shopping malls and chain stores in those countries.

The province also adjusted its products in a timely fashion, according to frequent feedback from overseas markets.

So far, about 1,121 enterprises of the province have been granted the right to engage in direct import and export. The province reported US$3.7 billion in exports last year.
