State Councilor Wu Yi Meets President of Jardine Matheson
Chinese State Councilor Wu Yi said Wednesday that China welcomes
Jardine Matheson Holdings Limited
to participate in the construction of projects listed in the country's 10th five-year plan.
Wu told Percy Weatherall, president of Jardine Matheson Holdings Ltd, during a brief meeting that China also welcomes the British company to join in the development of the country's western areas.
First established in Guangzhou in 1832, the Jardine Matheson Holdings Ltd. has a long history with China. It now plans to invest more in the country, said Percy Weatherall.
The British guests arrived Tuesday for a two-day visit at the invitation of the
China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT)
