Haier Listed on World Top Ten Household Appliance Giants
The second edition of 2001 American Appliance lately listed the world top ten household appliance manufacturers. China's Haier leads Japanese Hitachi to rank the ninth.
Haier created a global turnover of 40.6 billion yuan and earned US$280 million in exports in 2000. It set up 10 overseas factories and several global centers for design, manufacturing, distribution and marketing to realize a worldwide production. Its products have become a well-known brand in Europe, America, Middle East and other regions. Its space serial network appliance was reputed as a forerunner heralding the world trend, which has helped turn over a new leaf in European's brand-name record.
By its outstanding achievements, Haier has stood out on many a list of worldwide selections. It was placed at the seventh of the "Most Popular Companies in Asia Pacific Region" as appraised by British Financial Times, the top one of the fastest-growing appliance enterprises in the world by Appliance and the only one in Asia-Pacific region selected by AT.Kearney into its list of ¡°Best Performed Companies around the World".
According to the reports, among the top ten household appliance giants listed on the Appliance, three are American companies, two from Europe and four the Japanese with American Whirlpool on the top of the list.
