CSIC Ordered Huge Tankers Initially from Domestic Dockyard
Recently saw Bohai Shipyard Ocean Shipping Group and
China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC)
sign an agreement in
Beijing
for the building of three 159000-ton crude oil tankers. It is of great significance in speeding up the growth of our national shipbuilding and shipping industry.
This is the first time that the three ordered tankers of CSIC will be designed and built by China's shipyard company, and also the ship of the biggest tonnage ordered by a Chinese ship-owner from the domestic dockyard as well.
As expected, the first ship is to be delivered in 2003.
