State Councilor Meets UN Rapporteur on Disability

Chinese State Councilor Ismail Amat said Tuesday that the Chinese government will continue to support the United Nations in its work for the disabled people.

Ismail Amat, who also heads a State Council committee to coordinate work concerning disabled persons, made the remarks in a meeting with Bengt Lindquist, the special rapporteur on disability of the UN Commission for Social Development.

The State Councilor also briefed the guest on the achievements China has made in the cause for disabled people.

Lindquist said that he appreciates China's achievements and expressed his thanks to the Chinese government for its consistent support to the UN in the area of social development.

Lindquist is invited by the China Disabled Persons' Federation.
