Beijing International Trade Finance Conference to Open in May

Ken F. Garrison, president of the US-based Finance, Credit and International Business (FCIB) recently declared in Beijing that the FCIB will for the first time have its annual conference of 2001 held in Beijing instead of New York, the normal venue. He will work together with the organizing committee of 2001 China (Beijing) International Hi-Tech Industries Week to host the conference, making it as one of the important activities of the fourth Beijing Hi-Tech Industry Week, i.e., China Beijing International Sci-Tech Fair.

Garrison said that FCIB and the organizing committee of 2001 China (Beijing) International Hi-Tech Industries Week will co-sponsor the "Beijing International Trade Finance Conference" from May 10 to 12. Participants at the conference will be more than 300 celebrities coming from the related international organizations, world famous economists, government officials of China, the United States and some other countries and some members of the FCIB in addition to the representatives of import and export trading and commercial banks from scores of countries and regions around the world.

The "Plutuses" from across the world will not only give an overall analysis and forecast on China's economy, but also have discussions with Chinese enterprises on how to be a good helmsman on the high seas of internationalized economy.

It is expected that the conference will focus on such issues as finance, credit, laws concerning the ways and term options for collection and payment in international trading; analysis on national ventures; litigation and bankruptcy; standard for international accountants; and credit insurance programs, etc.

Garrison hopes that the fourth Beijing Hi-Tech Industry Week will offer Chinese enterprises more opportunities to participate in the discussion and have exchanges with senior economic experts from the world over, and also more chances for both Chinese and foreign entrepreneurs in investment and trading.
