Taiwan's EVA Airways to Add New Aircraft to FleetTaiwan's EVA Airways signed a contract with France's Airbus Industrie Monday to add eight new A330-200 wide-body aircraft to its fleet, reports reaching here from Taipei said.EVA Air officials said that the aircraft, delivery of which is expected to begin in March 2003, will allow the company to phase out its Boeing 767 planes. The officials said the airline is purchasing two of the aircraft outright and acquiring the other six through a lease agreement with GE Capital Aviation Services. The planes will be configured to seat 261 passengers, with 30 seats in business class and 231 in economy class. The aircraft will be able to fly directly from Taipei to Australia and New Zealand. |
