Strong Earthquake Jolts Ambon, IndonesiaA strong earthquake jolted Ambon, capital of Indonesia's Maluku province, on Monday afternoon, but there were no reports of casualties so far.The Antara News Agency quoted an official from the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency as saying that the quake occurred at 14:55 local time (06:55 GMT) Monday. There was no report of the scale of the earthquake so far. On Saturday, a tectonic quake measuring 5.2 on the Richter Scale jolted Bengkulu in Sumatra island. Indonesia, the world's largest archipelago nation, is prone to frequent seismic upheavals. It is located on the Pacific "Ring of Fire" -- a line of volcanically active areas stretching from the western coast of the Americas across to Japan, Southeast Asia and the South Pacific.
