NPC Vice-Chairman Meets Croatian FMVice-Chairman Jiang Chunyun of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress (NPC) met with Foreign Minister Tonino Picula of the Republic of Croatia at the Great Hall of the People Monday.Picula is currently on a 6-day official visit at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart Tang Jiaxuan. Jiang spoke highly of the bilateral cooperation in the political, economic, and cultural fields since the forging of diplomatic ties. He said inter-parliamentary contacts constitute an important part of overall relations, adding that the NPC is willing to further close its cooperation with the Croatian Assembly. Picula affirmed Croatia's emphasis on friendly cooperation with China, admiration over China's achievements in reform and opening up, and willingness to reinforce bilateral cooperation in all fields. He also expressed the conviction that inter-parliamentary contacts would help stimulate the overall progress of bilateral relationship.
