Shanghai Shenhua Beat Beijing Guo'an 3-1

Shanghai Shenhua Beat Beijing Guo'an 3-1
Shanghai Shenhua came from one goal behind to defeat Beijing Guo'an 3-1 Sunday in the second round of the Chinese fist division soccer league.

Guo'an, which inflicted a humiliating 9-1 rout on Shenhua in 1997, opened the scoring after Xu Yunlong received a left cross from Shao Jiayi and poked the ball into the net in the 14th minute.

Seven minutes after the halftime, Shensi helped Shanghai to equalize with a 25-meter shot on the top of the penalty area.

Yugoslavian striker Zoran Rankovic put Shenhua ahead 2-1 in the 55th minute when he beat three defenders to net a close-range shot.

Another Yugoslavian Sasa Racha wrapped up the victory with a goal in the injury time.

"Today's match is very exciting, and it's rather difficult to get three points." said Ilija Petkovic, who coached the Yugoslavian national team before he came to China in 2001.

"I'm satisfied with the result." he added.
