Large Oil Reserve Found in East China
Chinese oil experts discovered an oil field with a reserve of 21 million tons in Wudi County in the eastern province of
Shandong
.
Named Futai Oil Field, it has an oil-containing area of 17.4 square kilometers, according to the survey.
Shandong is one of the key oil producers in China, and its Shengli Oil Field is the second largest in the country.
Experts said the discovery of the oil field enlightened a future survey on the same geologic structure and related research in the country.
