Wang Fei Confident to Challenge Athens 2004

Wang Fei, the newly appointed head coach of China's National Men's Basketball Team (CNMBT) showed his confidence in an interview with the reporters that the team led by him will achieve good results. Wang's advantages as he himself told lie in the following:

His confidence firstly goes to his past achievements whether he was coaching Bayi or CNMBT. Secondly, he is quite familiar with and will get along with the team players of CNMBT. He learned a lot while watching many high-level NBA matches during his one-year study abroad in the US. Meanwhile, he commands English, which may help make good communication with his foreign counterparts.

Above all, his first goal is to challenge the successive champions of Asian Tournament and strive for breakthrough in 2004 Olympics. With these targets in view, his current consideration is to ask foreign coach to train Yao Ming and other top players of this team and have fresh blood injected as well.

Wang also disclosed that he might give up Bayi so as to devote all efforts to the training of national team.
