HK Chief Executive to Visit Tokyo

Chief Executive of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Tung Chee Hwa will visit Tokyo from March 20 to 23, said a spokesman for the HKSAR government Thursday.

The visit is aimed to reinforce ties with Japanese political and business leaders and update them on the latest developments in Hong Kong, said the spokesman.

The chief executive is scheduled to call on senior Japanese officials including Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori and Minister of Foreign Affairs Yohei Kono.

Tung will also meet members of the Keidanren (Japan Federation of Economic Organizations) and the Japan/Hong Kong Business Cooperation Committee, as well as senior representatives of the Japanese tourism industry.
