International Bid Invited for City's Rail Design
Railway experts are to be invited, through international bidding, to design a fast and convenient rail network in this capital of east China's Jiangsu Province.
According to the design requirement, within-one-hour arrival will be a reality after the network is completed. People who live in surrounding small cities 100 km. away from the city proper will be able to go to work or back home almost as conveniently as those live in the capital proper.
The network will connect small cities around Nanjing City by various rail transportation services, such as fast suburban railway, light rail, and even magnetic levitation train.
The network will also make use of interprovincial railways to form shortcuts connecting the capital with surrounding cities.
