Meseveni Declared Winner of Presidential Election in Uganda

Incumbent Ugandan President Yoweri Meseveni has won the presidential election by garnering 5, 123,360 ballots, accounting for 69.3 percent of the eligible votes.

This was announced by Chairman of the Electoral Commission Aziz Kasajja here on Wednesday.

About 70 percent of over 10 million registered voters took part in the polling in 214 constituencies in the country on Monday.
