Five Million Year Old Fossils Found in North China

Fossils of mammals and reptiles two to five million years old, including rhinoceros and tortoise, have been found in Junar Banner in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

According to local archaeologists, the fossils belong to the tertiary system two to five million years ago.

The fossils are useful data for the study of paleontology, palaeoanthropology as well as the climate, environment and geological conditions of the time, the experts said.
