East China City to Hold International Kite Contest

The annual international kite contest in Weifang City of east China's Shandong Province will be held on April 20 this year, according to the Weifang municipal government.

This will be the city's 18th kite contest, which is expected to draw 110 kite-flying teams from both China and abroad.

During the contest, kite-flying shows, exhibitions and trade fairs will be staged.

Meanwhile, the Shouguang International Vegetable Expo for 2001, the Changle China Precious Stone Festival and various tourism promotion activities will also be held.

Weifang has long been famous for its traditional kite culture.
