Peking University, Vienna University Join Hands in Natural Science
Invited to attend the celebration of the 636 anniversary of Vienna University Xu Zhihong, president of Peking University signed with Georg Winckler, president of Vienna University a memorandum for a new cooperation between the two universities in natural science Monday afternoon in Vienna.

According to the memorandum, ecology, risk study and gene projects, etc, will be the focuses of cooperation between the two universities. Besides, it has also underlined the contents for cooperation with regard to the educational and cultural exchanges and the exchange visits by students of the two universities.

Founded in 1365, Vienna University is the oldest one of German-speaking zone in Europe. Since Peking University and Vienna University established a sister relationship in 1997, the two universities had conducted successful cooperation in social sciences, such as humanism and law, and exchanges of scholars and students as well.
