Macao to Send Delegation to 3rd East Asian Games

Macao will send a 270-member delegation to the 3rd East Asian Games, which will be held in Osaka, Japan, said Mr. Manuel Silv¨¦rio March 12, Director of the Macao Sports Development Board.

He said that in addition to competing in the events, the delegation would like to draw experiences from Japan for reference and attending the handing-over ceremony for hosting the next East Asian Games.

On behalf of Macao Ms. Ho Lai Chun da Luz, Heidi, Director of the Cultural Institute of Macao will take over the Game's flag and torch at the closing ceremony to symbolize that Macao will host the next East Asian Games.

According to Mr. Manuel Silv¨¦rio, the 2005 Forth East Asian Games will be held in four contesting grounds in Macao, with an estimated expense of 560 million-620 million Pataca.
