US House Passes Resolution Condemning School Shooting
The US House passed a resolution Tuesday condemning last week's shooting at a Southern California high school.
"There's no law that can reverse what happened, but ... we can condemn in the strongest possible terms the atrocities that occurred," said Republican lawmaker Duncan Hunter, who sponsored the resolution and represents the district where the shooting took place. The non-binding resolution passed by a voice vote.
A teenage gunman opened fire inside Santana High School near San Diego, killing two people and wounding 13 others.
It was the latest in a rash of school shootings in the United States in recent years, including the April 20, 1999 killing of 13 people at Columbine High School in Colorado.
