Bosnian Parliament Elects New Cabinet

The Muslim-Croat Federation's parliament of Bosnia-Hercegovina elected a new cabinet of the Muslim-Croat Coalition Government on Monday, with Alija Behmen as prime minister and Nikola Grabovac from the Croat as vice prime minister.

According to Bosnian News Agency, the new cabinet is composed of 13 ministers and two ministers without portfolio.

The new prime minister said before the parliament that the priorities of his government were to strengthen and streamline the government, enhance Muslim-Croat unity, promote the return of refugees and economic reconstruction.

The Dayton accord, which was signed in 1995 ending the four- year war, divided the country into two semi-independent entities -- the Republika Srpska, or Serb Republic, and the Muslim-Croat Federation.
