Leading UPS Producer Relocates Regional Headquarters to Shanghai

The world's largest UPS provider -- MGE UPS Systems -- has recently moved its regional headquarters in northern Asia from Hong Kong to Shanghai.

A new office building, occupying a land area of over 10,000 sq. meters, has been put into use in Shanghai's Waigaoqiao bonded zone, a company source said.

According to Claude Pucheu, CEO of MGE, the two reasons for this decision are that, China's inland areas have become the core market of their products, and the investment environment and the related policies in Shanghai are very attractive.

The CEO said that the company saw a 54 percent sales increase last year, while in the China's inland market the figure was 66 percent.

"We will be able to better serve our China clients by being headquartered here," the CEO said.

The French company now accounts for 17 percent of the global UPS market share. It has two research and development centers and four manufacture bases worldwide, including one in China's Shenzhen.
