Chinese Art Gala Held in London

To promote China's art and culture and push forward the cultural exchanges between the east and the west March 11 saw the Chinese Art Gala held on in Greenwich, known for its Greenwich Mean Time.

The one-day Chinese Art Gala was co-sponsored by the Greenwich Chinese Language School and the UK National Maritime Museum. It has attracted hundreds of overseas Chinese, local residents, and tourists to the museum, which is close by the Royal Observatory Greenwich. They appreciated many Chinese traditional performances, such as lion dances and dragon performance, dance, folk music, acrobatics, martial arts, and Beijing opera performed by two players from Peking Opera Troupe. They also enjoyed the newsreels " China Today " and "Landscape in China".
