Returned Overseas Scholars Welcomed by Chinese Private Enterprises

At the "Round-table Forum on Return of Scholars from Abroad and Chinese Private Enterprises" held in Beijing March 11, Wang Yiming, vice president of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce made a keynote speech. He said that the returned overseas scholars are especially welcome to Chinese private enterprises to bring in more foreign advanced technologies and management experiences and to achieve internationalization for private enterprises when China's pending for its entry into the WTO.

Of a score of deputies from private enterprises, many are the returned scholars. They aired their views at the conference, expressing their wishes to combine China's private enterprises with the returned scholars. They all deemed it a win-win choice, for the returned scholars master the world advanced technologies, enterprise management, and marketing, while private enterprises are familiar with the situation in China.

The permanent vice president of the Western Returned Scholars Association (WRSA) addressed the forum, saying that China is in dire need of talents, and the WRSA will bring its role into full play for promoting the cooperation between the returned scholars and private enterprises. He said that now there are over 200,000 students studying abroad, of whom many are working in foreign hi-tech and financial enterprises and most of them like to return to China at an opportune time.
