A ceremony was held Monday in the Chinese capital to commemorate the 76th anniversary of the death of the revolutionary forefather Sun Yat-Sen.

The ceremony was held in the Yat-Sen Hall located in Zhongshan Park to the northwest of Tian'anmen Square.

Numerous flower baskets were placed around the Sun Yat-Sen Statue. Ye Xuanping, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) sent a flower basket on behalf of the CPPCC National Committee,.

More than 170 people attended the ceremony, and bowed three times in front of the Sun Yat-sen Statue to show their respect.
