Pak, India May Discuss in Near Future: Annan

UN Secretary General Kofi Annan on Sunday expressed the hope that India and Pakistan might be able to come together in the near future to discuss their differences.

"They should continue their efforts to come together and I will encourage both parties to come together to discuss their differences," he told a press conference here after holding talks with Pakistan's Chief Executive General Pervez Musharraf.

During their meeting, Annan and Musharraf have had talks on Kashmir, Afghanistan and other important issues of the mutual interest.

General Musharraf said he has had an excellent interaction with the delegation led by the U.N. Secretary General, adding that the presence of Kofi Annan will bring a change in the environment in the region.
