AsiaMaterials.com Starts Operation
AsiaMaterials.com, the first professional website in China dealing with construction materials, created by the Hong Kong-based ShuiOn Group, started operation Friday.
So far, the group has invested 50 million HK dollars in setting up commercial centers in Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Guangzhou, Hangzhou and Wuhan, and is preparing to set up centers in the US, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.
The website has already chosen a dozen strategic cooperative partners to provide customers with related services like quality inspection, goods distribution, insurance and other supply chains.
Some 400 enterprises, including the French-based St.Gobain in the top 500, have registered as members of the website.
Statistics from the globally authoritative Forrester Research Center show that the total market value for construction materials around the world is about 3,200 billion US dollars, less than 1 percent of which is handled on-line.
The ShuiOn Group hopes to turn the website into a profit-making entity in three to five years' time, and become an important industry for the group.
