Chinese Scholar Honored AAS Communication Academician

Zhu Weilie, a senior scholar as well as the head of Middle East Institute of Shanghai International Studies University, recently was honored as communication academician with Arabic Academy of Sciences (AAS) by the Egyptian Arabian Academy of Sciences.

The 59-year-old professor is also the vice-dean of instruction committee of language major under the Ministry of Education, head of Arabic language instruction group and editor-in-chief of Arabian World magazine in China. Zhu has long been engaged in the studies of modern political and economic situation and development trends of the Middle East, and has achieved considerable results in the studies of Arabic-Islam culture, Arabian literature, Jew, Israel and other fields.
