Important Archaeological Discovery in East China

A tomb belonging to a famous official dating back to the Eastern Jin Dynasty (317-420 AD) was recently found in Nanjing in east China's Jiangsu province, thus providing new clues about the period.

Archaeologists said that it is the most important discovery in half a century on the historical period between the Han Dynasty (206 BC-220 AD) and the Sui Dynasty (581-618 AD).

Some 70 pieces of precious relics were found in this 1,600-year grave in the northern suburb of the city.

The grave, 7.49 meters long, consists of a square grave room and a long corridor.
