Hong Kong Holds First "China Culture Cup" Quiz Contest
The first "China Culture Cup", a quiz contest opened in Hong Kong March 8, and its final winners will be awarded cups and a prize of HK$100,000, HK$80,000, HK$50,000 respectively.
The competition is one aspect of the activity series involved in the "Chinese Culture Knowledge Standard Project", co-sponsored by the Office of Overseas Chinese Affairs under the State Council and World Outstanding Chinese Funds Federation. It aims to kindle local residents' interest in understanding and normally grasping the ABC of Chinese culture, so as enhance their accomplishment in the culture of the Chinese nation. The contest encompasses the aspects of China and Chinese nation, modern Chinese, Chinese literature, history, geography, traditional culture and tourism attractions. People able to write Chinese and speak Cantonese and standard Chinese are all qualified for participation.
