CAAC Nodded to Passenger Ticket Discount on Seven Air-routes

The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) has approved the open transactions of passenger tickets on seven domestic air-routes subject to cabin-availability. Authorities of the Oriental Airlines said that the new ticket price would be executed on March 8 or the next day.

As reported, the seven air-routes are Shanghai-Guangzhou, Shanghai-Shenzhen, Shanghai-Chongqing, Beijing-Guangzhou, Beijing-Shenzhen, Guangzhou-Kunming, and Shenzhen-Chengdu.

With the passenger ticket discount to be permitted in China, the discounting extent will be more transparent. The CAAC has agreed to adjust three distributive factors in the combined transportation agreement, including Factor A (number of passengers), Factor B (number of seats along the air-route), and Factor C (number of flights operated).

The airline companies, which have scheduled flights on the seven air-routes, may adopt new prices only when their discounted prices are approved by the CAAC. Authorities said that the discount practice is perhaps a feeler put forward before the full open of the passenger ticket prices. After the adjustment of the prices, the passenger tickets of Shanghai-Guangzhou and Shanghai-Shenzhen will enjoy an open discount as high as 40 percent of the existing prices. However, the more discounts, the more limitations for passengers.
