New School Shooting Wounds One in US

An eighth-grade girl shot and wounded a female classmate at a Roman Catholic high school in Williamsport of Pennsylvania State in the United States Wednesday, reports said.

The victim, also in eighth grade, was shot once in the upper body, but her injuries were not considered life threatening, the reports quoted police as saying.

The shooting suspect was in police custody. No one was killed in the incident.

Bishop Neumann High School has about 230 students in grades 7 through 12.

Williamsport, home to the Little League World Series, is in central Pennsylvania, some 250 kilometers northwest of Philadelphia City.

It was the second school shooting in the United States in three days.

On Monday, two people were killed and 13 wounded in a shooting at a high school outside San Diego, California State.
