Large Energy Base Takes Shape in Shaanxi Province

A large energy base has taken shape in Yulin in the north of Shaanxi Province, a place noted for its rich coal resources, natural gas and crude oil.

A total of 20 billion yuan has been invested over the past few years to build the base into one with a production capacity of 30 million tons of coal, 3 billion cubic meters of natural gas, 1.6 million tons of crude oil, 200,000 tons of carbinol and nearly 600, 000 kilowatts of installed electric capacity.

Yulin boasts one of world's seven largest coal mines and China's largest concentrated natural gas base.

Upon ratification in 1998, the base has accelerated infrastructure construction. So far, the base has convenient transportation and already has a automated communication system.
