Beijing's Hutongs to Take a Grey Shower

The clearing and painting of building facade will extend to hutongs, side streets and compounds of government institutions and establishments later this month. To tone in the original style, grey will be chosen as the main color.

The second-phase decoration will cover walls of all side streets, hutongs and compounds of government institutions and establishments in Beijing's eight urban districts and suburb areas.

The whole campaign will start immediately after ongoing statistics about the total painting areas are out by the 20th this month. As is expected, the whole project will come to an end toward September 1.

Renovations on some inharmonious painting in the first phase will be completed by May 1.
