The front entrance of BBC Television Center in west London was damaged by a bomb explosion early Sunday morning.
The bomb went off at about 1230 GMT as a bomb disposal unit from the Scotland Yard, Britain's police headquarters, was attempting to carry out a controlled explosion of a taxi parked outside the BBC building in Wood Lane, west London.
Most of the people working in the building had been evacuated after warnings were received by a London hospital and a charity.
A London Underground employee received minor injuries in the blast, which police say is probably linked to the Real IRA, a radical group of the Ireland Republican Army which is strongly against peace in Northern Ireland.
