Taiwan Has 2nd Highest Wired Family Rate in Asia

Taiwan ranks Asia's second highest rate of Internet-connected families, according to a Taiwanese local media.

A January poll conducted by Paris-based Internet survey company Netvalue, shows that Taiwan seconds in Asia in terms of household Internet connection rates at 40 percent, only to Singapore's 44.7 percent.

Taiwan Internet users spend an average 9.1 hours per month browsing the Web, spending an average of 24.4 minutes per session.

Some 71.2 percent of the local Internet users spend most of their on-line time delivering and receiving e-mails, ahead of 34.3 percent who mainly transmit documents, the survey found.
